Sensitive Cartoons of Islam

We've all heard about how upset the Muslims are over the Danish cartoons, but have you ever seen how Muslim cartoonists potray your religion? There are lots of examples HERE on Palestinian Media Watch.

These are some of the mild ones, PMW has dozens to choose from. A brief perusal gives one a true impression of what the Palestinian press really thinks and why Hamas' recent electoral victory should be no surprise. More evidence HERE

The perpetual double standard lives on and on. Why should anybody in the West give a damn about Muslim sensibilities? We should treat Muslims in Western societies exactly the way they treat non-Muslims in Islamic society's.

I agree IW, religion replacing government makes for an absolute authority. To oppose the state is to oppose God. Opposing God justifies any and all means of punishment. Thus jihad, Sharia law, amputation, decapitaion, etc...

AC,
I think immagration of Muslims should come to a full stop. Mosques need to be closely monitored. Any Muslim calling for the violent overthrow of the government nees to be deported. Face the enemy.

To be honest, I see nothing deeply objectionable about the Palestinian cartoons (save for the one endorsing suicide bombing, which is murder). I don't agree with the viewpoints expressed in these cartoons, but they are legitimate political expressions. These also are not Muslim cartoons -- they are pAlestinian political cartoons -- not the same thing.

These differ from the Danish cartoons (which I think are great) -- these don't attack any religious doctrine, there's nothing "blasphemous" in them. If a Muslim were to say there's no double standard here, these are different, s/he'd be right.

In the end, we need to insist on free speech & expression for everyone, no exceptions or compromises.
